  STAFFORD, Va. –   Commercial Window Shield   has been awarded a safety and security installation project for the Stafford County Public Schools system. The project, Phase 2 of an overall school security plan, involves the installation of 15-mil safety and security window film with a wet glaze attachment system on all entryway glass at nine schools in the Stafford system. Earlier in 2025, Commercial Window Shield installed the same 15-mil safety and security window film, also with a wet glaze attachment system, at eight Stafford system schools. The Phase 2 project is underway and is expected to be completed early in 2026. A safety and security grant from the state was secured by Stafford schools to fund the projects.   PLANO, Texas –   Commercial Window Shield   has been hired by the Plano Independent School District for a security and safety window film installation project. The project involves the installation of safety and security window film on all ground floor glass on eight middle school and two high school buildings. The state of Texas has mandated that in such projects all school building glass seven feet high and below should be protected by the installation of security window film, also known as shatter resistance window film. Funding for the project and other similar projects around the state came from the Texas’s School Safety Standards Formula initiative. The initiative has allocated $400 million to public schools for enhanced safety. The initiative was sparked by a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in May 2022 during which 19 students and two teachers were killed and 17 students wounded by a lone gunman who entered the school through a building door. Va. – Harvey-Cleary Construction has hired Commercial Window Shield for a privacy/decorative and switchable smart film project in West Virginia’s capital.   Harvey-Clearly is constructing a 4-story, 140-000 square-foot building for TC Energy’s new regional headquarters in downtown Charleston.   Commercial Window Shield will be installing a frosted band of privacy window film with a design element on the glass fronts of all conference room and offices on each of the four floors.   Additionally, the company will install switchable smart film on the glass front of a TC Energy IT equipment control room.   HERNDON, Va. – DAVIS Construction has hired Commercial Window Shield for a privacy/decorative window film installation project in suburban Washington, D.C. The project, for a national security company, involves installing a band of frosted privacy film on all office fronts and conference rooms glass on three floors of a building in which the security company will be the sole tenant. The film includes a design element for an overall privacy/decorative effect.   DAVIS is building out the floors in several phases. This will require Commercial Window Shield to work closely with DAVIS contractors to schedule multiple mobilizations of its privacy/decorative window film installation team.   WASHINGTON – Commercial Window Shield has been retained by long-time client, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, for a   switchable smart film   installation project. The project involves a new Starbucks that opened inside the center. At issue is the considerable amount of foot traffic in the center and the coffee shop’s operating hours. Presently, convention visitors can see inside the Starbucks even when its closed or when employees are preparing to open. They constantly are trying to open the locked doors, which is especially inconvenient for employees doing the opening prep work.
