  WASHINGTON – Commercial Window Shield has been retained by long-time client, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, for a   switchable smart film   installation project. The project involves a new Starbucks that opened inside the center. At issue is the considerable amount of foot traffic in the center and the coffee shop’s operating hours. Presently, convention visitors can see inside the Starbucks even when its closed or when employees are preparing to open. They constantly are trying to open the locked doors, which is especially inconvenient for employees doing the opening prep work. Commercial Window Shield will be installing switchable smart film on the interior of both sets of entry doors and the surrounding glass. CWS Retained by rand Construction for Multiple Window Films Installation Project

  WASHINGTON – Commercial Window Shield has been hired by rand construction for a window film installation project for Earthjustice in the nation’s capital. The project involves the installation of several types of window film. The company will install a band of privacy film on the glass on all the office fronts on one floor. On all of the organization’s conference rooms, a customized distraction band of window film will be installed. Also on the conference room glass, a decorative film will be installed that will include the Earthjustice logo for branding purposes.   LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The St. Mary’s County Public Schools system has extended a continuing window film installation services contract with Commercial Window Shield for another year. The contract calls for the company to complete security window film installation projects at school buildings on an as-needed bases.    The partnership began in 2022, when St. Mary’s hired Commercial Window Shield for Phase 1 of its ongoing building glass protection program. That project involved the installation of security window film with a wet glass attachment system in entryways, classroom doors and vulnerable first-floor windows in two school buildings.     That was followed in 2024 by Phase 2, which called for the installation of 8-mil security window film in five buildings utilizing the company’s wet glaze attachment system. CK Construction Hires CWS for Security/RF Shielding Film Installation Project

    METRO WASHINGTON, D.C.  – CK Commercial has retained Commercial Window Shield for a window film installation project for a high-security tenant in the metropolitan Washington area.   The project involves installing a fragment retention version of Radio Frequency [RF] Shielding Film on a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility [SCIF]. These secure spaces are accredited by the U.S. government for handling, storing and discussing sensitive compartmented information.   In total, Commercial Window Shield will be installing 1,300 sq. ft. of a thicker version of the normal RF film which will also include a wet glaze attachment system.   The film’s bomb blast resistance component will hold the SCIF’s glass in place in the event of a terrorist or other attack involving explosives.
