Safety, Security Glass Tinting Window Films

A burglar can smash through your windows and steal your valuables like; computers, tools, jewellery, confidential business information... all within a matter of minutes. When a clear safety/security film is applied to the inside surface of glass, it can help keep glass fragments together on the surface of the film while the glass remains in the frame. This results in varying degrees of safety and security depending on what construction of film chosen for the job as well as type of glass and frame. Very often a necessary component in the installation of safety/security film is additional framing support around perimeter of the frame. A product that accomplishes this is our Film Flex System . Security window film keeps glass together if broken, but the Film Flex System helps keep the film/glass combination locked inside the perimeter of the frame. How Security Film Works

Window Film and Glass Tinting Versus Using Your Blinds

Most consumers think window films or glass tinting products are only for the warmer summer months but they are products that help us everyday, year-round. Today I want to talk about a solar control solution commonly referred to as "tint" and just how a solar control solution is far better than just closing your blinds during the daytime to get rid of the nasty parts from the sun. In the fall when the air cools and the leaves begin to hit the ground, the sun's position starts to become a problem for almost everyone that lives north of the equator and window film is a great way to combat this glaring problem. Most people just close their blinds but they lose any view they might have and shut out the world. I get why they do it, but it boggles my mind when I think about it. I'm in homes and businesses a lot and have been the window film industry since 1994. I see people closing their blinds all the time. Waterfront, mountain and city views blocked out by p

Solar Control Window Film - The Answer to Heat and Glare Problems

Even in winter solar heat pours in through unprotected windows, causing uneven temperatures and hotspots creating a constant battle for air conditioning systems. Solar Control window film is designed to reduce the amount of solar heat transmitted through window glass by increasing reflection and absorption through the glass. Typical coloured or tinted films work primarily through increased absorption, absorbing the solar energy at the glass, thus reducing the direct heat transmission into a room. These films only offer marginal performance when compared to metallised films or reflective films. Reflective films are precision coated with a fine layer of vaporised metal . These metallised films are designed to increase the solar energy reflection and absorption of glass. Reflective films range from moderate to excellent in performance for heat gain reduction and dependent on the grade of film chosen up to 80% of solar energy can be rejected. Films are commonly available in

Window Film and Energy Conservation

After UV protection and lower energy bills, one of the top attributes that homeowners and apartment tenants alike seek from their window films is a sense of privacy . Window films can offer a sleek and easy privacy alternative to bulky blinds and clumsy curtains. Here are the pros and cons of three common privacy window films. One-Way Mirror Films For those of us who love our view but don't love others being able to see us, one-way mirror films are an excellent option. You have all of the privacy of a reflective surface during the daytime with none of the obfuscation of your view. One-way mirror films are a great option for homes that benefit from natural light and for homes with small children or pets who enjoy looking outside frequently . These films do not guarantee nighttime privacy, however, so you may want to consider blinds or curtains for nighttime privacy . Frosted Films Frosted films give your windows the look of etched glass without the permanency or cost of

Window Film Can Also Protect Your Building From Bugs

Possessors of marketable structures or large homes frequently conclude to keep certain lights in and around the structure 24 hours a day. This decision is generally made for security reasons, but one of the downsides of this choice is that the lights attract a number of differentbugs -most specially, the stinkbug. Luckily, marketable window film can help combat any unfortunate infestations . The Source of the Problem  When marketable lights are left on at all hours, they tend to induce significant quantities of heat , indeed if they're energy effective bulbs. Bugs are attracted to the warmth and gleam of utmost of these marketable lights , and are particularly apt to gravitate towards structures during the night. Inescapably , they will also find their way into the structure through a crack in the wall and make themselves at home. Marketable Window Shade as a Result Window shade works to keep out bugs by blocking out some of the light emitted from the structures. The light

Violent Attacks in Schools on the Rise in Late 2021 -Districts Move to Increase Building Security

Image
After a year-long decrease in violent attacks in our country’s schools due to COVID, incidents involving guns spiked in the last quarter of 2021, when students returned to their classrooms.   The deadliest incident occurred on Nov. 30 in Oxford, Mich., when a high school student shot to death four classmates and wounded seven others. In this case, the student’s parents bought him the gun as a present. They were also charged.   In all, there were 34 school shootings in 2021, 24 of which occurred after Aug. 1. In 2020, a year in which most students studied remotely as their schools were closed, there were 10 shootings. In 2018 and 2019, there were 24 violent actions involving guns in each year.   Under the radar are an unspecified number of planned school attacks by students that were uncovered by authorities before they were carried out.     Equally concerning was a nationwide alert in late December after a social media post on Tik Tok suggested there would be shooting and bombing
