Stafford Schools Retain CWS for Safety and Security Window Film Installation Project

  STAFFORD, Va. – Commercial Window Shield has been retained by the Stafford County Public Schools system for a safety and security window film installation project.   The project involves the installation of 15-mil safety and security window film with a wet glaze attachment system on all entryway glass at eight schools in the Stafford system.    A safety and security grant from the state was secured by Stafford schools to fund the project.    Commercial Window Shield will begin the project in late spring and complete its safety and security window film installation work in June.     Commercial Window Shield has been at the forefront of the nation’s school security movement over the past decade. Recent projects include installing 33,000 sq. ft. of safety and security window film in 25 buildings at Galena Park ISD in suburban Houston and 45,000 sq. ft. of security film at South San Antonio ISD.     Including the Stafford ...

CWS Completes Switchable Smart Film Installation Project at D.C. Hospital

  WASHINGTON – Commercial Window Shield has completed a switchable smart film installation project at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the nation’s capital. The project, for client Silva Contracting of Laurel, Md., involved installing switchable smart film in two rooms, each with windows that separate a laboratory area from a patient area.      The smart film was installed on the interior glass of the windows. The film has an electrical component that is wired to a light switch. When the switch is on, the film remains clear. That would allow patients to observe lab activities. When the switch is off the switchable smart film becomes opaque, blocking views of the interior and turning the glass into a privacy wall.  The smart film installation work by Commercial Window Shield was part of a larger project at the hospital involving Silva Construction.    The company has a close working relationship with numerous construction companies like ...
